Philip Hyde was born in Warren, Ohio two years after his sister and to parents who were married for 60 years prior to his fatherís death in 2001. After graduating from Hanover College in southern Indiana in 1968, he came to Oklahoma for graduate school, was then drafted into the Army and served as a combat medic in Vietnam throughout 1970. He married in 1976, his son was born in 1980, and unfortunately he and his wife divorced in 1991. A second marriage of four years also recently ended in divorce which is all too often the case for second marriages in Oklahoma. Dr. Hyde participates in a weekly menís support group which he initiated in 1991, he has served for 6 years as a member of the Oklahoma Licensing Board of Examiners of Psychologists and was Chairperson two times. He is currently serving as President of the Oklahoma Psychological Association having served a prior term in 2007 as well as having served as a Board Member of OPA for the past two years.

His Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology was completed at Oklahoma State University in 1977, and a year's clinical psychology internship was completed at the University of Texas Medical Branch- Galveston in 1974-75. His 1 year post-doctoral supervision was completed in the Oklahoma State Health Department Guidance Center Division in 1978. Dr Hyde regularly attends seminars and workshops in areas of his specialization and always exceeds the 20 hours of continuing education required for licensing as a Clinical Psychologist in Oklahoma. In addition he subscribes to 3 journal summaries and reads the APA Monitor and The American Psychologist every month plus for the last 14 years, he has organized a monthly clinical consultation group with five other psychologists. He bases his clinical work on the American Psychological Association's standard of ethics and code of conduct that has also been adopted by the Oklahoma Psychological Association, both organizations to which he has been a long time member in good standing.
